About the Company

Established in 2009, Analytical Parts Supply (APS) provides quality and affordable products to various service providers and end users in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and environmental industries. “Clients looking for hard-to-find parts turn to APS for help,” their website states, and APS takes pride in making  products more available and affordable through their refurbish and exchange programs. APS not only provides important laboratory products, but a much-needed service to their customers.

An Urgent Need

Like most companies that make products available to consumers, APS has always relied heavily on their online business. “I had set up our company website through a big national company some years ago, but one day a few months back it just disappeared!” Scott Lowery, Director of Operations, recounts the urgent need that APS faced not long ago. “I couldn’t even do tweaks to the website ‘cause everything was just gone. Our customers must of thought that we went out of business, so we had to act real fast.”

Scott had an acquaintance who recommended that he contact Jamie at Bricks Without Straw. “They knew Jamie personally, so I went ahead and gave him a call,” Scott remembers. Scott and Jamie soon met to discuss what was needed. “Our whole website was gone, so we had to rebuild from the start.”

Given the urgency, Scott’s greatest concern was for APS to be back up and running quickly. “I didn’t want Jamie to build anything way beyond our needs, I was focused on being functional for our customers and providing all the content that we needed.”

The Completion Process

Step-by-step, the process of rebuilding the APS website was completed successfully. Scott first met with Jamie to discuss the scope of the website and all that needed to be included in the rebuild. They soon after met with Jamie’s photographer to carefully review the photos and graphics that would also be included. Together, the three of them hashed out how they really wanted the final website to look.

“Jamie was knowledgeable about how to put things together based on what he envisioned for the website,” Scott explains. “I had my own vision, so we would meld our two visions together.” Jamie kept Scott updated throughout the rebuild process, sending him excerpts and asking for Scott’s feedback. “Jamie always responded to my input. We stuck with a basic plan, nothing too advanced, but with everything that we needed.”

Scott is pleased with the new website, and he’s relieved that the APS customers can see that the company didn’t disappear off the face of the Earth! “Jamie gave us a better version of what we had in the past,” says Scott. “He gave us something that’s functional and comfortable for staff and our customers to use. And now, if I want to make any changes to the content or to the photos, I’m able to do that, which is something that I really wanted.”

Scott says that when the APS website suddenly disappeared, it was like the company didn’t exist anymore. “With our new website and some of our social media tools like Twitter and Facebook to promote us, we’re letting folks know that we’re still alive and well!”
